Prefos inaugurated its ultra-modern factory complex in Adako-Jachie, near Kumasi in 2014. The inauguration was attended by several dignitaries including Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11, the King of the Asante Kingdom and a retinue of chiefs, President J.A.K Kufour, former President of the Republic of Ghana, Ministers of State, Ambassadors and Members of the Diplomatic corps, partners and leading members of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), among others.
Our quest to become a major supplier of street lighting technology in Ghana and the West African market culminated in the construction of an ultra-modern factory with state-of-the-art facilities at Adako-Jachie near Ejisu in the Ashanti Region for assembling imported street light components for distribution. Facilities in the factory include a modern street lamp assembling line, a testing laboratory and a show room.
Again, as part of efforts to train and equip the youth to carry out post-installation maintenance and servicing of street lights in their communities, the company has established the Prefos Electrical Training College (PETC) in Kumasi. The facility, which has a hostel accommodation of 50 rooms, will provide residential facilitates for trainees. It is expected to create over 2500 jobs for youths from the various Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) within the next few years, thus helping to address unemployment problems particularly among the rural youth.
We pursue a deliberate corporate policy of giving back to the community through individual, institutional and social support programs. Our Social Responsibility programs continue to inspire individuals, transform lives and bring development to whole communities within and outside our operational areas.

Commitment to Job Creation
As a locally grown company, we pride ourselves in giving back to the community and enriching the quality of life of the youth through skills development and job creation. Currently, we provide a source of livelihood to over 150 permanent and casual staff and their dependents. With the establishment of the assembling plant in Adako Jachie, more jobs are expected to be created for the youth within the next few years. We have also established the Prefos Electrical Training Center (PETC) basically to provide training and skills development courses for the youth as a means of preparing them for the job market. In addition, we are supporting the government of Ghana’s Public Private Partnership (PPP) program by training over 2500 youths in after-installation maintenance and street light repair works in the various communities. Under the Program, Prefos will train and provide opportunities for the employment of 10 youths in all the 154 districts of the country. This arrangement will also support youth employment and training in other auxiliary industries within Ghana and in the sub-region.
