A 4-day hands-on training workshop in Solar Photovoltaic Technology organized by Partner Africa Project (UWZ) started on 29th January, 2024 and ended on 1st February, 2024 in Prefos Electrical Training Centre (PETC).
UWZ is a project sponsored by the German government to train the youth in the area of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Technology in order to create job for the youth. As part of the project, UWZ sought to give ToT to the facilitators from the partnered institutions so that they will be equipped with knowledge and skills to be able to train the youth in Solar PV subsequently.
This workshop brought together facilitators from two public TVET Institutions with PETC facilitators, being the only private TVET Institution to be selected to be part of UWZ Project. The workshop started with PETC which will in turn get to other Institutions subsequently.
PETC was provided with modern solar tools and equipment to be used to train the youth. Among the tools and equipment were Solar panels, solar inverters, and other solar accessories which have been installed at the Prefos Training Centre., and cutting and drilling tools, testing machine, PPEs etc.
